Welcome to St. Maarten!

Welcome to St. Maarten!

St. Maarten, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is a country on the southern part of a Caribbean island shared with Saint Martin, a French overseas collectivity. Its natural features span lagoons, beaches and salt pans. The capital, Philipsburg, has cobblestone streets and colorful, colonial-style buildings lining its Front Street shopping area. The port is a popular cruise-ship stop.

This is one of my favorite stops on the cruise. I love this island. The beaches are beautiful and shopping on this island is so much fun! They also sell buy one get one free on drinks.

We went to our favorite beach, enjoyed some shopping and ate some ice cream. And had our favorite drinks!

Here are some fun pictures from our day on St. Maarten!

First Day on the Cruise

First Day on the Cruise December 18

The kids were so helpful getting on the ship. They helped carry luggage and waited in lines patiently. They couldn't wait for all the pizza and ice cream.

After we got on board, we went to get lunch. Can you guess what the kids ate?

We than went to the Sail Away Party. We also saw a rocket launch at Port Canaveral. We also played Miniature Golf.

The cruise director was so much fun on the cruise this year his name was Chris The Flying Scotsman. We would sing and dance at all the shows.

After dinner we went to the Welcome Aboard Show. What a fun first day on the Sunshine.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! The kids were so excited to get home to see if Santa came while we were on the cruise and he did!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to our friends and family! We had a blast celebrating on the beach with our new neighbors. Tim grilled brats and hotdogs for dinner. We enjoyed a fire and watched the fireworks on the beach. It was a nice evening celebrating the New Year.

We miss all of our family and friends but love it here in Florida. We hope we have more family and friends come visit us in 2017. The kids are so excited for Grandma and Grandpa Petersen to get here on the 14.

New Years Day 2017

Welcome to 2017 here in Florida!

Today we went to the beach and enjoyed some fishing together. We packed a lunch and also had a picnic. It was a great day on the beach. Tim and Hannah even got into the water. They are crazy!
